GLIFY has hosted the Public Speaking and Leadership (PS&L) Training Workshop since the summer of 2016 and has taught more than one hundred students to improve public speaking and leadership skills. Many GLIFY project leaders and officers have attended the workshop to become better and more confident leaders.
Typically, each workshop includes six sessions with lessons on fundamental speaking techniques and drills on the new applications. The students practice public speaking, provide and receive constructive feedback, as well as share and brainstorm ideas about how to serve the community better. By situating youth in a peer-to-peer learning environment, this workshop makes public speaking less intimidating while still helping students to improve.
