The Contra Costa Food Bank partners with nonprofit organizations such as Feeding America to provide nutritious meals for those experiencing hunger and food insecurity. About 1 in 6 residents in Northern California turn to the Contra Costa Food Bank for emergency and supplemental food. While providing nutritious food, the food bank also helps other organizations who are lending support to malnourished communities.
Starting in fall 2022, GLIFY members gather at the Contra Costa Food Bank Warehouse in Concord every month to help sort and pack food for communities in need. In addition to meeting new people, the work GLIFY members complete during the two-hour shifts speed up the timeline, letting the company send out produce quicker to families in need.
